About Julianna
Julianna is a Licensed Site Professional (LSP) in Massachusetts with more than 15 years of environmental consulting experience focusing on risk-based closure for contaminated properties, human health risk assessment, vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation, and environmental due diligence.
Before founding Green Ladder Environmental in 2018, she was a Senior Principal at Geosyntec Consultants, a 1200-person specialized consulting and engineering firm that works with private and public sector clients. At Geosyntec, she was responsible for managing the firm’s New England operations and led the firm’s Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) compliance practice. Julianna was active in Geosyntec’s Diversity Initiative and increased the representation of women in senior leadership at the firm.
Prior to Geosyntec, Julianna was a Project Manager at GZA GeoEnvironmental, where she focused on human health risk assessment and navigating sites through the MCP. She has been interested in the cleanup of contaminated sites since she was a teenager, in the 11th grade writing a research paper for an expository writing class on the Superfund Regulation, its history, successes, and failures. Julianna studied Chemistry and Environmental Studies at Williams College, where she received a BA in 2001. She earned a MEng in Environmental Engineering from MIT in 2003. Early in her career, Julianna taught chemistry at Middlesex School. A lifelong resident of Jamaica Plain, she lives there still with her husband and son.
